Meridian Energy is the largest of the three state-owned enterprises formed from the split of ECNZ on 1 April 1999.

The company owns and operates the eight hydro stations based on the Waitaki River system, as well as New Zealand's largest hydro station at Manapouri, generating approximately 30 percent of national electricity output.

Meridian is also one of the country's major electricity retailers, with about 230,000 customers nationwide - from residential customers through to the country's largest electricity consumer, the Comalco aluminium smelter.

Meridian also has operations in New South Wales and Victoria, Australia.

Since Chambers PR commenced operations in early 2004, they have been responsible for handling strategic communications for Meridian Energy in a number of fields.

In the 18 months leading up to the move to form their own company, Chambers PR's principals, Tracey Lyall and Gerald Raymond, had been responsible for Meridian's account, then being handled by another consultancy.

Such was the strength of the relationship we formed with Tracey and Gerald and our confidence in their ability, that we had no hesitation in shifting our account to Chambers PR when they set up their company.

Our experience with Chambers PR is that all deadlines and budgets are met, and the materials produced are characterised by their excellent presentation and accuracy.

I cannot think of any other company in New Zealand who would be capable of providing such a high standard of service, and have no hesitation in recommending them.
